Ufford Park Hotel Golf Resort & Spa

Set in 120 acres of stunning historic parkland and surrounded by beautifully peaceful countryside, Ufford Park Resort is one of Suffolk’s best-kept secrets.

The hotel recently purchased by Lion Quay Resorts boasts 100 elegant modern guest bedrooms and suites, various restaurants offering locally sourced ingredients and an extensive function and events facility with large function room and private meeting rooms and private dining. This combined with an award-winning golf course with Suffolk’s only two-tiered driving range and golf school.

SPA Creators were engaged by the new owners to be part of a team to help renovate the resort with a budget of over £5 million. A significant part of the project was to upgrade the spa facilities, guest lounges and restaurant spaces.

SPA Creators initially visited the site with the LQ management team to evaluate the business pre purchase. As part of this exercise evaluating the opportunity and creating and outline development and business strategy document for the development to present to the clients funding partners. Once approved SPA Creators completed a detailed assessment of the building and created a spa design that re-engineered the building utilising non-revenue generating areas of the property.

The design of the new spa facilities includes the creation of a new guest lounge and spa reception. Access was then created to reach the lower ground floor to create a suite of 8 treatment rooms including single and VIP double rooms, some touchless therapy experience rooms including a Salt Flotation room, a deep relax lounge post treatment.

In addition the work encompassed a new health club fitness facility utilising Technogym state of the art equipment and Less Mills virtual training to compliment studio classes.

Work on this phase of the project was completed in September 2023. This element of the project was completed on time and to budget by SPA Creators and the main Contractor Greggory Brothers Ltd. The LQ management team, the owners and clients have provided very complementary feedback to the upgraded facilities. Colin Jenno of LQ commented ‘I love what you have created, it is absolutely fantastic and beyond our expectations’.

SPA Creators will be continuing their work on site with the next phase being the renovation of the lounge, restaurant and kitchens and new hotel reception taking the inspiration from the panoramic views of the golf course, this work will commence in 2024. It is planned that following completion of this project the SPA Thermal Suite will be refurbished and the addition of an Outdoor Thermal and Wet Spa experiences will be created developing on the trend for outdoor spa gardens which SPA Creators have been at the forefront in creating.
