Frequently Asked Questions
What impact will a spa have to my business?
It is important to recognize that the objective of a hotel is to sell bedrooms and F&B. A spa can be use as a vehicle to achieve this and we would anticipate that a spa could increase room occupancy by 15% with similar increases in F&B
How big should my spa be?
Size of spa is dictated by the size of the property and level of investment available. In evaluating the opportunity it is important to establish a business plan to ensure there is a focus on ROI. A spa should not be a non profit center it should contribute to the overall P&L.
Should I have a pool?
A spa needs to have some form of water based experiences. It is not a given that you need to include a large swimming pool. As part of the analysis and investment review this can be determined and the design can then review the space allocation and the opportunity for a swimming pool. SPA Creators have worked with indoor and outdoor pools which are both very popular. We are also seeing a trend towards natural swimming pools and a country house location lends itself well to this type of attraction.
Will introducing a spa reposition my hotel?
Spa suites have become increasingly popular with guests, the addition of some spa facilities can generate good room rates and occupancies. It is our opinion that spa treatments requiring a therapist should not be completed in room.
