Relais Cooden Beach Hotel & Spa

Situated on a private beach with uninterrupted views of the English Channel, Relais Cooden is a perfect year- round destination near picturesque Bexhill-on-Sea. The hotel has undergone a significant refurbishment over the last couple of years positioning the hotel as a luxury boutique property, it exudes a playful beach-club vibe. The final part of the hotel development has been the creation of a wellness facility.

SPA Creators were appointed as the interior spa architect to design a scheme that utilised an old leisure facility that had been closed. This process encompassed the re engineering of the building layout to create a new entrance to accommodate day spa visitors and hotel guest with a small membership. Internal walls were moved to allow for the design embracing the natural light that streams through large roof lights. The spa provides relaxation spaces with treatment rooms and a small fitness suite. The wet spa facilities providing guests the opportunity to relax in various thermal rooms enjoying the vitality pool or foot spa or relax on the heated loungers.

The operator of the hotel Relais Retreats had no experience in spa, SPA Creators provided the many years of experience in hotel spa design to support the development and implementation of the scheme. Pre-opening support was also provided by SPA Creators selecting the treatment brand, curating the treatment menu, helping with the brand identity, recruitment support of the spa team including the manager and then the ongoing light touch management. The R&R Spa was completed in Q3-2024 and has received fantastic guest feedback. The operator plans to enter into the luxury hotel spa of the year awards in spring 2025.
